CONFIRMATION RETREAT

On a rainy day at the end of April 2008, seven young people and Pastor Enderle embarked on a new tradition - The Confirmation Retreat. Participants were this year's confirmation class and the next year's. They started off by driving to Richland Center where they went cave exploring. Aside from being cold and wet, they had fun. Then in a torrential downpour they drove to Camp Phillip near Wautoma, Wisconsin. Arriving very late (10:30pm) because of the rain, they spent a few hours in the main lodge building goofing around. At around 12:30am they headed for their bunk house and called it a day.

The next day they did a high ropes course - again in the rain - but at least there was no lightning. After lunch they had a spirited game of Paul Ball (as in Paul Bunyan - playing basketball with a ball that's about four feet in diameter). Aside from periodic oxygen breaks for Pastor Enderle and several calls for CPR, everyone had fun. Then around 3:00pm we headed home. All in all it was a great time - and best of all, Pastor Enderle got to know the confirmands even better, and they got to know him - which was one of the main purposes of the whole event.
