COMMUNITY EVENT - 2008

Chili Supper   Silent Auction
and

Friday, November 7, 2008 - Warrens Lions Building

HUGE THANK YOU to all  the members and friends of St. Matthew that helped out to make our annual Chili Supper and silent auction a HUGE success. Approximately 200 people attended the event which was held at the Warrens Lions Building on November 7, 2008. Thank you to everyone whose giving and generosity made it the success it was.

And next year, it will be in OUR NEW FELLOWSHIP HALL!!!!

From Rhonda Lambert:

I would like to take this opportunity to extend a huge thank you to all who helped out at the Chili Supper and Silent Auction:

  • To all who brought the delicious desserts.
  • To everyone who so generously gave items for the auction. We had 67 items in all.
  • To everyone who gave money for our chili fund. We collected over $600. This money was used to purchase the items for the supper and the wildlife print.

 A special thank you to:

  • Patty Eckelberg, Marilyn Hart, Julie Scott, and Mary Rezin for helping make the chili.
  • Gloria Kane, Amanda Burkhalter, Joyce Gillette and Sheryl Kolb for the kitchen help and serving.

They all had a big hand in making the evening a success!

  • To Katherine Enderle for helping sell tickets for the supper.
  • To Jordyn and Kalie Lambert for selling tickets for the lawn mower and the kids Candy Game.
  • To all the people who stayed and helped put away tables and chairs and clean-up
  • A great committee with lots of team work.

As always, lots of hands make events such as these the success they are!

  • To Jason Burkhalter for always bring there to extend a helping hand whenever we need it. Jason took all the garbage and recyclables for us and helped with the cleaning.
  • To Dean and Gaye Peterson for donating all of the hamburger. It was very much appreciated!
  • To Mary Jo Hill and the choir members for their beautiful music.
  • To Linda Pingel for being there with her trusty camera and taking all the wonderful pictures to put on the church website. You do an awesome job!
  • To Jeff Holthaus for emceeing for us for the evening. Jeff was his usual delightful self. You did a great job, Jeff. Thank you!

There is a lot of time, work, planning and commitment involved in making our chili supper a success and the many people from our little church on the hill showed their selflessness to make this happen.

Most of all, we give glory and honor to God and thank Him for blessing us with Pastor and Katherine Enderle and their children.

Before we know it, we will be in our new church with room for all!

 Thank you everyone!
