2009 GIRL'S DAY OUT
A day of
refreshment, SATURDAY, JUNE 13, 2009
Northwestern Publishing House. Our synod's publishing company, also has a Christian book and gift store which was our first stop. We were treated to refreshments in their Hospitality Room and each received a 20% Off One Item coupon. In addition to a wide variety of Christian books for children, adults, singles, couples, families, seniors, etc., the store carries many gift and decorative items, like wall art, jewelry, picture frames, clothing and other inspirational items. Check it out at www.nph.net.
The historic Village of Wauwatosa, located just minutes west of the city of Milwaukee and nestled along the banks of the Menomonee River, offers dining, shopping, galleries and more, all in buildings of the past that still shine with taste, style and grace. This is where we ate lunch together (at the Chancery Restaurant) and shared a devotion on Matthew 11:12; coming to Jesus for rest when we're weary. www.villageofwauwatosa.com
Our final stop was at the Mitchell Park Conservatory, also known as the Domes. These are the three big domes you see as you drive through Milwaukee on Interstate 94; they house a desert oasis, a tropical jungle and a special changing exhibit of floral gardens. The display was "Summer in Provence: A View of the French Countryside." Beautiful!! http://www.county.milwaukee.gov/MitchellParkConserva10116.htm

A few stops on the way home: A little more shopping at Johnson Creek Mall, and supper in the Dells. The ladies enjoyed every minute with each other, and look forward to the next outing and the opportunity to grow closer to each other.
