Divine Design Bible Study

Our Sunday Bible Study this summer at St. Matthew is themed, "Divine Design." This will be a discussion of Genesis, Creation, the role of science, and much more. We'll explore the creation of the universe and the earth, God's creatures, humankind, marriage, family, society, and more. Please join us each week at 10:30am in the Fellowship Hall or on any Sundays you can attend.

Tractor Pull Fundraiser

The Tomah Tractor Pull is coming soon - June 24-26, 2021. St. Matthew members serve as the "clean up crew" after the five shows at the Tomah Recreation Park, picking up litter in the grandstand and seating areas in preparation for the next show. This is both a service to the community as well as a fundraiser for the congregation. Please sign up to volunteer for a shift or two. All youth and adults are welcome to assist. Sign up sheets are available now in the church entryway. Please contact the church office with any questions.

Supporting the Nelsons

St. Matthew member, Jason Nelson, has been hospitalized for nearly three months after open heart surgery and numerous complications. He remains hospitalized in Madison, WI. To follow Jason's health journey, his family has set up a Caring Bridge Site with daily updates. To help with the Nelsons' medical expenses, a Go Fund Me has also been set up to support them.

Jason had a long career in Lutheran education. In his retirement years, he has continued to share his faith as a writer for the Time of Grace ministry. Click here to read a compilation of Jason's many "Grace Moments" devotions.

Sunday school Concluding

Our last Sunday school date this Spring will be Sunday, May 23. Sunday school will resume on September 12, 2021. Families are also encouraged to join us this August for Vacation Bible School at St. Matthew. VBS will be held on the mornings of Mon, Aug 2 - Fri, Aug 6. Our theme this year will be "Destination Dig."

Guest Pastors

Our 9:15 am worship service on Sunday, May 16 will be led by Rev. Dr. John Wille, District President of the S. Wisconsin District of The Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod. President Wille will also be leading the Bible study afterward. Our 6:30 pm worship service on Wednesday, May 19 will be led by Rev. Steven Thomas. Please join us for these worship opportunities as we hear God's Word taught and proclaimed for us!

Bible Studies

Please grow in God's Word with us at St. Matthew! Our 9:00 a.m. Thursday study is currently studying St. Paul's journey to Rome in the Book of Acts. This study will continue through the end of May. We will have topical studies on the Thursdays of June. We will not have the Thursday Bible study during the month of July.

Our 10:30 a.m. Sunday Bible class topic is "Created for Community." We are learning more about what the Bible teaches us about living in Christian community and fellowship with one another in the Body of Christ, the Church. This study will continue through the month of May. Our summer Sunday Bible study topic will be "Divine Design" - God's created order, as taught especially by the book of Genesis.

Both Bible studies meet in the church Fellowship hall. There's plenty of room for you - please join us!

Adopt-a-Highway

Please join us on Sunday, April 25, 2021 at 2:30pm at church for our Spring Adopt-a-Highway cleanup. Gloves and orange vests will be provided. Please dress for the conditions. Following the cleanup, stick around for some yard games, a devotion, and a lite meal. This is a service project opportunity for catechism students and Ignite youth, but additional adults are encouraged to attend and assist as well.
